~ Liz's Response to Morgan ~ Liz
1) compare jury members + the two finalists to TDI characters Fair warning, I have only seen the first season of TDI, so that's what I'm basing my comparisons off of.
Morgan - Courtney Let's get one thing straight here: I love Harold. I think he's hilarious. But him rigging the votes to oust Courtney was just so much horseapples. She was also one of my favorite characters, and I thought her character arc was probably the best one of the whole season, so seeing her taken out in such a completely bogus way by another character that I also liked... well, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Whenever I think TDI, this is the moment I think of. Really similar precedent here, with regards to the idol play. Even though I'm more or less the one that both instigated and profited most from the idol play, it was still a royal jobbing that you really didn't deserve, and I felt bad about it for a long time. But, yeah. Courtney is great and I enjoy the hell out of her, so that's why I went with that.
Jeff - Geoff
Not because of the name. This was partially because (spoiler alert) I gave Lindsey Bridgette, and partially because Geoff was one of the biggest powerhouses in a lot of departments. He was cool, he was likable, and his showmance with Bridgette was probably the best couple dynamic in the whole season. (Well, up until Geoff mucks it up but let's ignore that part!) Jeff was one of the biggest threats in the entire game, for a huge variety of reasons, and I think that he was also one of the nicest and most charming contestants I've seen in quite some time. Solid ringer for Geoff, imo.
Malcolm - Justin Justin's main attribute was his handsomeness, and that's something that Malcolm also used to his own advantage whenever possible, flirting it up with the ladies on his tribe and strutting his stuff in group chat from time to time.
Taj - Leshawna
Leshawna was hailed as probably the biggest threat in the late phases of the game, and the one that almost all of the jurors wanted to win. And even though her ouster was total crap, Leshawna took it with dignity and grace like the iconic queen she was.
Keith - Trent
Trent started out as a fairly likable guy, and his relationship with Gwen is great. After all of the romantic meddling goes down, it's popular knowledge around camp that it's either going to be Heather or Trent going home next - but, oh look at that, Heather goes and wins immunity, and Trent basically get shafted because the bitch everybody else actually wanted gone wound up up being safe. The circumstances match beautifully with Keith's ultimate ouster from the game. And, like Trent, I think that Keith is a great guy with a lot of skills and talents. I don't quite think I'm cool enough to be the Gwen to his Trent, but I would hope that I'm at least, like, close.
Ken - Owen Owen was a massively popular character with both the audience and the other contestants in the show, due in large part to the positive attitude that he displayed throughout the entire game. He also had a lot of skill that usually wasn't recognized, and I think that Ken meets all of those criteria to a tee. He had so much going on under the surface, and was playing a great strategic game, while still remaining very likable and positive about everything that was going on.
Lindsey - Bridgette If I had a girl crush on any TDI character, it would be Bridgette. She's so laid back and cool, and she just seems like a neat person that would be enjoyable. Lindsey repeatedly mentioned to me that she was purposely reining in her sass and attitude during this game, and I think it really paid off for her. She kicked ass and made it far, and would probably have won the game against just about anybody. Plus Bridgette and Geoff have got it goin awn, just like Linds and Jeff.
Darnell - Ezekiel Ezekiel wound up going home early because of his attitude and the way that he spoke disrespectfully about other campers. While Darnell was usually pretty good socially, he's been known to let his emotions get the better of him and make misplays as a result, and to be quite insulting when he feels attacked.
Liz - Duncan I wasn't sure who to put for myself, but I ultimately decided on Duncan. Like me, Duncan was pretty in-your-face and didn't really care what others thought. It didn't make him a ton of friends, but it did make him endlessly entertaining. Duncan made s'mores out of Harold's underpants, I made a fake idol. Duncan had a showmance with Courtney that was cut short by horribleness, I had a showmance with Morgan (at least in my own mind) that got cut short by (self-inflicted) horribleness. All in all, Duncan was a pretty kickass contestant, much as his attitude might have sucked at times, and he's easily one of the most memorable parts of the season.
2) imagine you're on the jury: F2 is Lindsey and Darnell - who do you vote for? Lindsey, to the point where I probably would just vote for her and not even bother with a jury question. She's someone that I have had a ton of respect for this entire game, and who I'd proudly support as the first winner of this series.
3) Marry, Kill, Fuck: Morgan, Keith, Host Nick Marry Morgan. She's the one I have the best vibe with.
Fuck Keith, but double check that his protection method is legit, because he and I have both been known to lie about that.
Kill Host Nick, and sacrifice his soul to the greater glory of Jefra.
Thanks for the fun questions, Morgan! Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know!
